1. What Your World is

Your World is a free online game and Instagram series. Every comment on one of our posts at @yourworldglobe that names a country builds a house with the commenter's username on a 3D globe. The first person from each country is that country's president. New episodes are posted on Instagram, and the live map is on this website.

By commenting on our posts, signing in, or using this website, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not comment or use the site.

2. Who can play

You must be 13 or older, which is Instagram's own minimum age. You must also follow Instagram's own terms and Community Guidelines when you comment.

3. How you get a house

• Comment on one of our posts and name a country. We read comments on our posts from the last 21 days.
• If you name a city as well, your house goes in that city. Otherwise it goes in the capital.
• One house per Instagram username. Your first comment that names a country is the one that counts. Later comments do not move you.
• "Resident", "residency" and "house" are game words. They are not real residency, citizenship, property or an address.
• Your house appears in the episodes and on the live map. We cannot promise every house is shown by name in every episode.

4. Presidents, wars, businesses and votes

The first person from a country is its president. The president lives in the capital and has one house there. We plan to add powers for presidents and residents, such as declaring war on another country, opening a business, and voting a president out.

All of this is fiction that happens only inside the game. It makes no claim about any real country, government, people, border or conflict. It says nothing about your real nationality, and being a president in the game gives you no real authority over anything or anyone. It has nothing to do with any real head of state. We will post the rules for each new power before it starts, and we may change those rules.

5. We can refuse, move or remove any house

We can refuse, move, hide or remove any house, title or username at any time. Reasons include:

• offensive, hateful or sexual usernames or comments
• spam, bots, or fake or bought accounts
• pretending to be someone else
• players under 13
• anything that harms the game or other players

We may also fix a country we read wrongly from your comment.

6. No payment, no prizes, no ownership

• Your World is free. We will never ask you for money.
• There are no prizes, rewards or giveaways.
• You do not own your house, your plot, your title or anything else in the game, and none of it has any money value.
• Do not sell, buy or trade houses, titles or powers. If anyone offers you one for money, it is not us.

7. Signing in

You may be able to sign in with Instagram, or by commenting a code we show you on our latest post. Sign in with Instagram follows Meta's own rules about which accounts can use it.

• Only sign in as yourself, with your own account.
• Do not sign in as, or claim to be, anyone else.
• Do not share sign in codes, or try to take or change someone else's house.

We can end any session, and remove any house linked to misuse.

8. Acceptable use

Do not:

• use bots or scripts to comment, or to copy or overload the map
• try to break into, test the security of, or break the website, our systems or anyone's account
• use the game to harass, threaten or spread hate about any person, group or country

9. Your username and comments

When you comment a country, you let us show your username and that country on the globe, in our episodes on Instagram, and on the live map, for as long as Your World runs. We do not show the text of your comment.

We may send you one private message on Instagram, as a reply to the comment that built your house, to welcome you. The Privacy Policy explains it.

You can leave at any time. The Privacy Policy says exactly what happens. Episodes already posted stay on Instagram.

10. Our content

The episodes, the towns, the website and the Your World name are ours. The Earth imagery and map data belong to others and are credited on our Disclaimers page. You are welcome to share our posts on Instagram. Please do not repost our episodes as your own.

11. Provided as is

Your World is provided as is and as available. It may go offline, glitch, or place a house in the wrong spot. We may change the game, pause it or end it at any time, without notice. We do not promise an episode at any set time.

12. Our responsibility

As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for any loss that comes from using Your World. Nothing in these terms takes away any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or any other law, that cannot be taken away.

13. Not part of Instagram

Your World is not affiliated with, endorsed or sponsored by Instagram or Meta. Instagram is a trademark of Meta Platforms, Inc.

14. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep playing after a change, you accept the new terms.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any dispute goes to the courts of New South Wales.
